Don Gardner
Don was born and raised in Washington, DC. After attending Largo Senior High School, he was accepted at Miami Dade Junior College in Miami Florida. Both musically and athletically inclined, Don participated in track and football, as well as band and choir groups. He toured the nation with various gospel and rhythm and blues bands and starred in two off-Broadway musicals. He is both a percussionist and a poet.
Don has been homeless off and on for the last ten years in the southeast United States, but thanks God every day for his experiences so that he can inform and educate young people about the issues of poverty and homelessness in America.
He believes that, “with the right drop of water, you can fill an ocean,” and the love he speaks about is the love of Jesus Christ, which has given him the strength and guidance to do His will.
Recently, Don moved into his own place, and will be starting a new job in February, 2007. He continues to work on a book of poetry and is in the process of starting his own clothing business.
