Eric Sheptock

Eric Sheptock came to Washington , DC in August of 2005 to protest the Iraq war and Bush-era policies. In June of 2006 he then joined the fight to keep Franklin School Shelter open. The Committee to Save Franklin Shelter prevailed against former DC mayor Tony Williams. Franklin has since been closed by Mayor Adrian Fenty. Eric continues his fight for the homeless nonetheless. Eric has a blog about homelessness at www.ericsheptock.com and also educates the public about homelessness through Facebook and Twitter. He often testifies in front of the DC Council and e-mails them and others in DC Government about problems being faced by their homeless constituents. He has been featured on CNN News, NPR (National Public Radio), WPFW and Russian television and other media outlets and writes for two papers -- STREET SENSE and THE PEOPLE'S TRIBUNE.
