Robin was born in Northeast Washington, one of six siblings.  After high school, she joined the US Air Force and served for four years.  Robin was working at the Department of Defense in 1993 when mental illness caused her to lose her job and become homeless.

She moved from shelter to shelter around the tri-state area before returning to DC, where she began studying communications and fine art at Trinity College. However, her disability interfered with her schooling, and she was unable to graduate or continue working.

Robin finally began receiving counseling and was able to secure an income with the VA and Social Security and moved into a recovery community home, where she has resided since March of 2005.

Today, Robin is working on a biography, and has been active in local politics.  She is hoping to secure permanent housing and raise a family.
