Brickerville United Lutheran Church Youth Group
Event: In August, the Brickerville United Lutheran Church Youth Group held a “sleep out” event. They slept in boxes, dumpsters, and beneath tarps. In September, they followed up on the experience and began watching Homeless to Harvard. During the month of November, the Youth Group will be introducing and sharing what they have learned and experienced with the congregation. On the first Sunday in November, Communion Sunday, they will be collection for their local food banks. November 10th is Veteran’s Homelessness Awareness Sunday, and they will begin their Heroes House support. November 18th they will visit their WELCA women’s group and showing Hard Times Generation from 60 Minutes. November 23rd they are having a movie night and showing the entire Homeless to Harvard movie. Sunday School on November 24th is the Faces of Homelessness I & II for the adults and Sesame Streets new Homeless Muppet show. They will then celebrate Thanksgiving Eve with Communion and how they will move forward as a congregation.
